SAN DIEGO, CA (WSAU-WHBL) — The Milwaukee Brewers earned a sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 4-2 win on Wednesday afternoon at Petco Park.
The Padres led 2-1 in the 6th inning when the Brewers scored 3 runs. Omar Narvaez hit a two run homer and Jace Peterson laced a solo shot.
Brent Suter picked up the win in relief of Adrian Houser. The Brewer bullpen shut down the Padres with 4 1/3 scoreless innings and 11 strikeouts. Suter, Devin Williams, Brad Boxberger, JP Feyereisen and Josh Hader worked for Milwaukee. Over the three game series the bullpen allowed only five hits and no runs over 10 1/3 innings with 16 K’s.
Feyerisen came into a bases loaded jam in the 8th inning and got two strikeouts. Hader struck out Eric Hosmer with the tying runs in scoring position in the 9th to get the save.
The Brewers have an off day Thursday before facing the Cubs in a weekend series at Wrigley Field.
