SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The course of the coronavirus pandemic in Sheboygan County is, for the moment at least, in a seeming state of balance. No significant change had been seen in the 7-day case trajectory as of April 14th, the last update from the state DHS, and on Tuesday any new cases of COVID-19 were offset by recoveries…18 in both cases…rendering the active case count unchanged at 166. Hospitalizations were down by one to 10.
Statewide, the DHS reports 805 new positive test results out of a pool of 4,315 received. 591,636 in Wisconsin have now fought the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and 6,718 have lost the battle, with 8 new deaths added on Tuesday. 100 hospital admissions due to COVID-19 were reported since Monday, and a net decrease of 7 COVID patients was recorded statewide. 350 persons are being treated, 99 of those in ICU beds, and 394 patients in all are being ventilated.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health today advised that those searching for a source for vaccinations are now being directed to vaccinefinder.org in order to find vaccination locations. All residents age 16 and older are now approved to receive vaccinations against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and as of Tuesday morning 27% of the county’s population has been fully vaccinated, numbering 31,108. 45,348, or 39.3%, had received at least one shot.
