Home ownership has been called “The American Dream”, but with already high prices rising even further, many can only dream. According to statistics from the National Association of Realtors, the median list price of Sheboygan County homes is now almost $180,000, trending up 8.4% year-over-year. Making a purchase that large likely requires a decades-long commitment to a mortgage, and even qualifying with a lender can be challenging. But Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Sheboygan hopes to change that.
Working with funds provided by the City of Sheboygan’s Community Development Block Grant Program and from Cleveland State Bank as a sponsor, CCCS is offering a free Homeownership Class on Saturday, May 1st from 9am-4pm at the Grand Stay Hotel in Sheboygan. Potential and prospective homebuyers will be taught everything they need to know about purchasing a home, receive a valuable resource manual, lunch, and a certificate will be provided to all who complete the course.
Enrollment is limited due to social distancing standards. All participants must register by contacting CCCS at 800-350-CCCS.
