Wolfgang E. Geisler, 98, of Sheboygan, passed away early Sunday morning, April 11, 2021 at the Sheboygan Senior Community where he had been residing.
Born August 9, 1922 in Oels Schlesien, Germany, Wolfgang was a son of the late Erich and Erna Grunert Geisler. He attended schools in German before being drafted into the German Army as a Communications Division Specialist during WWII. It was during the war that he met the love of his life, Helga M. Knaack and were united in marriage on May 6, 1947 in Tellingstadt, Germany. They were married for 64 years before Helga preceded him in death on July 30, 2011.
Wolfgang worked in the pottery division of the Kohler Company for 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed making pottery and playing table tennis. He also enjoyed camping at Long Lake and loved going dancing with his wife, Helga.
He is survived by his three children, Frank Geisler, Sheboygan, Orville (Gail) Geisler, Cleveland, and Heidi (Jeff) Johnson, St. Cloud; three grandchildren, Jeremy Geisler, Cleveland, Jennifer (Dave) Scheel, Sheboygan, and April (Rob) Weber, Sheboygan; many great grandchildren; a brother Winfred in Germany; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Helga, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Gerhardt, a brother, Horst, and his daughter-in-law, Sara Geisler.
Family and friends are welcome from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Chapel of Eternal Light, 6706 Superior Avenue, Kohler. COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be observed and masks are required. A private family service will take place immediately following. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Wolfgang’s arrangements.
