Steven H. “Stevie” Bauer, age 67, of Sheboygan Falls, WI, his life ended too soon on Monday (April 12,
2021) at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls following a very short illness.
Steve was born in Plymouth, WI, a son of the late Wilford and Bernadine (Taubel) Bauer.
He attended Sheboygan Falls Schools.
In 1972, he married Rosanne Kopplinger at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Early in his life, he worked in the carpentry trade for local companies for several years and then
purchased the S & R Bar and Restaurant in 1979, operating the establishment with his wife, Rosie,
until they retired in 2016.
Steve loved politics and was a man that enjoyed working for the local people and especially the folks in
his township, respecting their ideas and opinions, fighting for what was right and helping them in any
way he could, he would listen to the people with an open ear, open heart and an open mind and was
proud to help the Town of Sheboygan Falls grow and prosper. He served as the chairman for the Town
of Sheboygan Falls for 14 years and on the Sheboygan County Board for 2 terms.
Survivors include his loving wife and friend of 49 years, Rosie of the Town of Sheboygan Falls, One
Brother: James (Karen) Bauer of Sheboygan and One sister: Shelly (Bill) Curtiss of Plymouth, Two sisters-
in-law: Betty Bauer of Cambridge and Kathy Gerhartz of Kiel, One brother-in-law: Joe (Tammy)
Kopplinger of Manitowoc, His canine companion: Mr. Koby. He is also survived by many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law: Joseph and Shirley
Kopplinger, Two brothers: Roger and Bill Bauer and his pets: Brutus, Goofy and Baby Kitty Too.
Visitation will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth on Saturday (April 17, 2021) from 10:00
A.M. until 12:00 Noon. Private family services will be held following the visitation. Your cooperation is
appreciated in wearing a face mask and social distancing for the visitation. Entombment will be in the
Garden of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Steve’s name.
