New cases of COVID-19, and recoveries from the illness, continue their back-and-forth for dominance in Sheboygan County as large-scale changes in the data remain mostly at bay.
While 12 new cases were reported in Tuesday’s daily update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, 14 more persons recovered, lowering the active case county by 2 to 169. 13,336 in the county have now battled the illness, while 134 have died because of it. 5 persons are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Sheboygan County, and increase of one since yesterday.
Wisconsin added 886 new positive test results on Tuesday, lifting the state’s total case count so far to 581,070. 8 more deaths were attributed to COVID-19 since Monday, putting the toll at 6,648. Another 72 persons entered the hospital, and after accounting for deaths and discharges the state’s COVID patient population rose 34 to 275, and has been rising on average since a low point of 193 was reached on March 21st. The 7-day average change in hospital admissions in the state is now upwards by 25. 75 patients are in ICU beds, and 400 of the state’s ventilators are in use. That number had fallen as low as 344 on March 14th. 31 patients suspect COVID-19 is behind their hospitalization, but still await their test results.
