The Wisconsin DNR on Monday announced that the Village of Kohler has applied for funding through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program, which will primarily fund replacement of lead service lines throughout the village.
The DNR says that the activities related to the program don’t require an environmental analysis, however federal law requires an environmental review before any funds are made available.
Anyone with concerns on the environmental impacts of the project has until April 19th to submit comments, and depending upon those comments an environmental analysis might be required.
The public is encouraged to submit written or verbal comments regarding this decision and the potential environmental impacts of this project. Submit comments by April 19 to:
