After serving as Director of the Ellwood H. May Environmental Park for over 30 years, David Kuckuk will retire on April 30th, but not until spending the month of April training the next director. And come May 1st, Samantha Lammers will begin overseeing operations at the park which began as a farm gifted to the City of Sheboygan, and is now an environmental, educational and recreational haven.
Lammers has previously served as a Natural Resource Specialist and a Deputy Conservation Warden with the Wisconsin DNR, and has extensive training in aquatic invasive species programming, having trained 12 Water Guard wardens to protect waters across the state. Most recently, Lammers spent time as the Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator for Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Washington and Waukesha Counties.
Lammers becomes the third Director at Maywood. David Kuckuk began his tenure as the second Director of the park when he inherited the master plan in 1987.
