SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -A St. Nazianz Man is facing more than 15 years in prison for his 11th Drunk Driving Offense. Paul Marmes scheduled to appear for a plea hearing in Sheboygan County Court Wednesday. According to a criminal complaint, An Elkhart Lake Police Officer noticed a vehicle sitting at a 4 way stop for an extended period of time last January; after pulling into a driveway, the officer approached the car, knocked on the window, and noticed the smell of alcohol and saw several empty beer cans on the floor of the car.
The officer says when Marmes stepped out of his car, he stumbled and nearly fell onto the ground. After failing sobriety tests, Marmes was arrested. In addition to possible prison time, Marmes could also be fined up to $50,000 if he’s convicted.
