Even as the advantage between new cases and recoveries is in favor of recovery, the actual level of COVID-19 activity in Sheboygan County remains “High”, with 156.3 cases recorded per 100,000 persons. The trajectory, however, has been on a downward trend over the last 2 weeks.
On Friday, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported 15 test returns coming back positive out of a pool of 76 returns in all, a 19.7% rate. With 18 recoveries, the active case count dropped 3 to 151, and two persons were successfully discharged from hospitals, putting the county’s COVID-19 patient population at 7.
Another 434 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added to Wisconsin’s total…now at 574,870 cases. The State Department of Health Services revised the state’s death count downward by two, to 6,597. 39 more persons were hospitalized, and the patient population was down a net 13 to 226, 57 of those in ICU beds. Another 21 are hospitalized pending results of their tests, and 372 patients are ventilated in all within Wisconsin.
As of Thursday, 15 facilities in Sheboygan County are being monitored due to the appearance of COVID-19. 3 of those are long-term care facilities, 1 is a group housing facility, 4 workplace investigations are underway, and 7 educational facilities are being monitored.

As of this weekend, 28.2% of Sheboygan county residents…32,577 in all…have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 14.7%, or 16,941, have completed their series of shots.
