Just over one-quarter (25.7%) of Sheboygan County residents have received at least one dose of vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 so far, and about half of those (12.9%) have been fully vaccinated in the fight against the global coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, another 14 of 76 test results received since Tuesday were positive for COVID-19. That’s an 18.4% positivity rate, and puts the total at 13,185. With 5 recoveries, the active case count rose 9 to 152, and 12,900 persons in the county have now recovered from their illness. 133 have lost their battle. Hospitalizations increased by 1, with a county COVID patient population of 7.
With the weekly update of 14-day rates and trajectories from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services now filed, Sheboygan County edged down slightly in the Burden rate, now indicating 156.3 cases per 100,000 population, a decrease of 3.6 points. The Activity level remains high, however our Trajectory has declined by 32% in the last two weeks. That compares with a state Burden rate of 106 per 100,000 persons, a High level of activity, and an upward Trajectory of 11%.
573,899 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have now been recorded in the State of Wisconsin, with the addition of 776 today. That’s a 12.3% positivity rate. 10 deaths were recorded, meaning that COVID-19 has now been responsible for the deaths of 6,597 in Wisconsin. 72 persons were admitted for treatment of COVID-19, raising the patient population by 31 after deaths and admissions, for a total patient population of 248. 62 of those are in ICU beds, and 393 patients in all are on ventilators, whether because of COVID or another cause. Some of those others may include some of the 22 patients now being treated while awaiting their test results.
