SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) – The Chilton man arrested and charged with arson after confessing to setting a house on fire near Elkhart Lake last May will be sentenced next month. 33 year old Sylvester Tassoul appeared in Sheboygan County Court this week, entering a “no contest” plea to a felony charge of arson – a charge with a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison.
Court documents say Tassoul had become upset with a woman that lived in the house, picked up gas from a nearby gas station, and used that to start a fire on the side of the home early that Sunday morning. Deputies were able to put out the fire, track down Tassoul, who admitted to setting the fire, and then leaving for Green Bay.
His sentencing date is set for May 24th.
