Legend says that the winds of March come in like a lion, and go out like a lamb, but right now, it’s all lion. A wind advisory from the National Weather Service is warning of frequent gusts between 35 and 45 miles an hour until 7 PM, enough to blow around unsecured objects, cause scattered power outages and buffeting high-profile vehicles.
And those northeast winds are making Lake Michigan a dangerous place, as waves build to between 8 and 12 feet. Those will come in on top of water that will likely pile up on the shore, threatening beaches and bluffs with erosion and holding back the Sheboygan, Pigeon and Black Rivers, increasing the risk of flooding. The Lakeshore Flood Advisory is in effect until 4 AM on Friday.
