SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) – A Sheboygan man arrested after a stabbing in the City of Sheboygan last month appears in Sheboygan County court for his preliminary hearing today. Sidney Smith was charged when police were called to the stabbing on Geele Avenue on February 27th. The victim had been stabbed with a kitchen knife and was rushed to the hospital, refusing to tell police who stabbed him.
A witness said that the victim and Smith had been extremely drunk and were fighting over who would get the last beer when she left to go shopping – and that’s when she got a phone call from the victim saying Smith had stabbed him.
Smith is facing a felony count of second degree reckless injury which carries a 12 year prison sentence if he’s found guilty.
