Laura Nemitz, 94, passed away on March 12, 2021, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility.
Laura was born on June 30, 1926, in Ashtabula, OH to Earl and Lula (Jerauld) Little. She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1944. Laura had been active on the class’ reunion committees. Over the years, she had been employed by Hotel Ashtabula, Kivela Shoe Repair, Ashtabula Telephone Co., Carlisle’s Specialty Shop, Crystal View Gifts, and Cover Bridge Pizza. She was united in marriage to Robert D. Nemitz on July 4, 1954 at First Methodist Church in Ashtabula, OH.
Laura was a member of Assembly of God Church. She was instrumental in starting, and was a charter member of Ashtabula’s Contact Teleministry, a charter member of the Jaycettes, a past president of the Women’s Society of First United Methodist Church, and sang with the Oakwood Quartet.
Her hobbies and interests were reading, helping in child and home healthcare, leading Bible studies, singing, and playing the piano. Laura was an active member of the Church of God Revival Center.
Laura is survived by two sons, Marty (Carol) Nemitz of Sheboygan Falls and William (Debbie) Nemitz of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Nemitz, David M. (Katie) Nemitz, Daniel A. Nemitz, and John D. Nemitz of Tampa Bay, FL; great-grandchildren, Taryn and Callie Wield, Brendan and Sydney Simon, Dillion, Levi, Samantha, and Jonah Nemitz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents, and granddaughter, Robin Nemitz.
A private graveside and burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in Laura’s name.
