The number of active cases of COVID-19 rose for the third consecutive day this week, reaching 143 when 16 new cases were added against 12 recoveries since Thursday. The positive test rate reported Friday was 26%. 3 more persons in the county required hospitalization, raising the patient population to 10.
Sheboygan County remains at a “High” activity level, with a current burden rate of 157.2 cases per 100,000 persons.
Wisconsin added 550 positive cases to the total which has now reached 568,902. Nearly three times that many – 1,895,402 – have received vaccinations in the state. In Sheboygan County, over 18% of the population…21,574…have received at least one dose, and 10,340 – or 9% – have been fully immunized.
After a day without deaths on Thursday, the toll increased by 1 statewide to 6,525. 44 more persons entered hospitals for treatment, and the state patient population saw a net gain of 24, to a total of 258 COVID-19 patients. 67 of those are in ICU beds, and 368 ventilators are in use around the state.
The Sheboygan County Facility-wide Investigations report lists 19 active investigations. 3 are at long-term care facilities, 1 is at a group housing facility, 5 non-healthcare workplaces currently host investigations, and 10 education facilities are being investigated.
