(WHBL) – An Adell woman is scheduled to appear in Sheboygan County Court on two misdemeanor counts of mistreatment of animals. A criminal complaint charges Lori Kleinahns after investigators were called to her property on Highway 28 in January for reports of two horses that appeared to be starving.
A vet was called to assess their condition, and noticed they were so weak they would fall when they tried to walk, and the deputy believed they were near death. When Kleinahns was questioned, she told the investigator that the horses belong to her so she can do what she wants with them – saying nobody can tell her she needs to ride or train them.
The two mistreatment charges and a felony bail jumping charge could mean up to 6 years in prison if she’s found guilty.
