MANITOWOC, WI (WHBL) – The woman arrested after a rollover crash that killed her granddaughter enters a not guilty plea in Manitowoc County Court. Monica Walker was arrested after the crash February 8th.
Court documents say Walker and the child were northbound on I-43 when her car hit a patch of ice, she lost control, and the vehicle rolled over. The child was thrown from the car, and passed away.
Walker admitted to drinking the night before, but said her arrest wasn’t fair, because she wasn’t drinking that morning. She also told investigators the crash was caused by her eating a burger while driving and the ice.
Her blood alcohol level when she was arrested was .092. The legal limit is .08. Walker is facing 3 felony charges. She’ll be back in court next month.
