COVID-19 data released Wednesday by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health was mostly positive. Although 15 new cases were identified among the 81 tests returned…an 18.5% rate…19 persons recovered since Tuesday, lowering the active case count by 4 to 133, the lowest since 112 were recorded on September 16th last year. 12,930 cases have been recorded in the County since its arrival on March 13, 2020. 131 have died. Hospitalizations in Sheboygan County have declined 1, to three patients.
As for vaccinations, as of Wednesday morning 17,444 County residents (15.1%) have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 6.6% have completed their series.
Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says that 565,131 persons have experienced a coronavirus infection so far after adding 539 today. That was 14% of test results. 18 more deaths were recorded, pushing the toll to 6,458. 57 more persons were hospitalized, and the state’s COVID patient population dropped by 4 to 267, 69 of those in ICU beds. 390 ventilators in the state are in use by all populations.
