Joyce L. Brukardt, 84, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and
caregivers at her home early morning on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
Joyce was born on April 12, 1936, to Frank and Evelyn (Malwitz) Walczak in Antigo, Wisconsin.
She graduated from Central High School with the class of 1954. After graduation, she was
employed by Vollrath Company. On May 18, 1957, Joyce was married to Charles H. Brukardt in
Sheboygan. After their wedding, they drove down to California on Route 66 for their
honeymoon. Together, Joyce and Charles raised their only child, Randall, in Sheboygan. In 1963,
Joyce and Charles bought Boneck Printing Inc., which they owned and operated together until
2000.
Joyce loved to bake, cook, knit, and was an excellent seamstress. Two of the things that Joyce
devoted her life to were Christmas and travelling. Joyce and Chuck travelled to every state in
the U.S., England, Mexico, and on a Caribbean cruise. They spent a lot of time in their motor
home up in Door County. Joyce loved her cats, Snuggles and Sweetie-Pie.
Joyce will be missed by her husband of 63 years, Charles; son, Randall; sisters-in-law, Shirley
(Don) Crips, and Gloria Walczak; nephews, David Walczak and Steven (Clarice) Walczak, and
Peter and Michael Crips; many great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Walczak; father-in-law and mother-
in-law, Charles E. and Caroline Brukardt; niece, Debra Spangler; and Andrea Zewadaka.
A private memorial service will be held for Joyce on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. The service
will be livestreamed from Joyce’s obituary page on www.zimmerfuneralhome.com at 4:15 PM.
A public visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00 PM on February 17, 2021 at Zimmer-Westview
Funeral Home. All COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, including mask wearing and social
distancing.
Joyce’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to St. Nicholas Hospice and to her
