After last year’s event was repeatedly delayed out of concern for COVID-19 until brief observances could be held in mid-August, the Sheboygan Area School District plans to return high school graduation ceremonies to the traditional Vollrath Bowl location in June.
Last year’s graduation was held at the school football fields, and the limited audience of socially-distanced guests had to leave immediately afterwards.
In a message to parents, the district announced the date of Saturday, June 5th for this year’s commencement, with a make-up date of Sunday the 6th should weather interfere.
In the past, the threat of rain moved those ceremonies indoors to the respective schools, but with COVID-19 still expected to present some challenges, that option is not preferred and the Sunday rain date was added instead.
