A Sheboygan County resident age 80 or older is the 113th death here associated with COVID-19 as reported today by the County Division of Public Health. They youngest victim was between the ages of 10 and 19, two were in their 30s, four in their 40s, five in their 50s, twenty in their 60s, twenty-six were in their 70s and 55 were 80 or older.
The number of active cases dropped by 10, as 23 new cases were offset by 32 recoveries. Hospitalizations, at 5, dropped by two in the last day. The positive test return rate was 17%.
The newly-updated two-week case and trajectory data reflect the easing of the pandemic we’ve been experiencing lately. Although activity in Sheboygan County is still “Very High”, the case burden is down from 544.9 per 100,000 persons previously to 364.1 per 1K. The trajectory was measured downward at 42% over the last two weeks.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed another 1,802 new cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, and 538,348 persons in the state have now experienced the coronavirus. 5,811 have lost that battle as another 24 deaths were added on Thursday. 87 more persons were hospitalized with COVID-19 and another 61 persons suspect COVID but await confirmation through tests. After accounting for deaths and discharges, the state’s COVID patient population fell 16 to 718 persons…166 of those in ICU beds. 437 of the state’s 2,369 ventilators are in use.
The County Division of Public Health is now conducting 47 facility-wide investigations, a number unchanged from last week. 10 of those are long-term care facilities, 3 are group housing facilities, two healthcare institutions are being monitored, 18 workplace investigations are underway, and 14 education settings host investigations as of Thursday.

- Rocky Knoll Health Care Center
- Sheboygan Health Services
- Sheboygan Senior Community
Ten of the 14 education settings with active investigations were identified:
- Howards Grove High
- Northview Elementary
- Oostburg Elementary
- Oostburg High
- Oostburg Middle
- Plymouth Riverview Middle
- Sheboygan Falls Elementary
- Sheboygan Falls Middle
- Sheboygan Falls High
- Urban Middle School
