SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – A steady downward trend in active cases of COVID-19 continues unabated in Sheboygan County, as another 7 were removed from the active rolls in Wednesday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
28 new cases, comprising 36.8% of the 76 tests recorded since Tuesday, were offset by 35 recoveries, dropping the number of persons battling the disease in the county to 563. 12,386 persons have contracted SARS-CoV-2 virus here, and 112 have not survived. Another 11,711 have recovered. 4 persons were discharged from hospitalization, lowering the patient total to 7.
Statewide, 34 more deaths associated with COVID-19 were logged on Wednesday, upping the toll to 5,787. 1,328 new cases were noted, putting the total at 536,546. The positive test return rate was 20%. Wisconsin’s COVID-19 hospital patient population fell 12 to 734, with 93 persons being admitted in the last 24-hours, offset by deaths and discharges. 160 are in ICU beds. 432 ventilators are in use by all patients in the state.
