SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Amid a continual and steady decline in active cases of COVID-19, the Sheboygan County toll of victims is also on a seemingly steady course. The 112th such fatality was reported in Tuesday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health. In this case, it was someone in their 70s, one of 26 in that age group. Fifty-four persons deceased from COVID-19 were in their 80s, twenty were in their 60s, five in their 50s, four in their 40s, two were in their 30s, and one victim was between 10 and 19 years old.
Of the 95 test returns received since Monday, 10 were positive for COVID-19, a 10.5% rate, one of the lowest seen since last September. With 36 recoveries, the active case count dropped by 26 to 570. 11 persons – three more than on Monday – were hospitalized in Sheboygan County for treatment of their symptoms. The two-week rates and trajectories were unchanged.
Another 1,301 Wisconsinites received positive test returns in the last 24-hours, raising the state total to 535,218 so far. The positive test return rate was 24%. 54 deaths were logged today, raising the state toll to 5,753. 135 more persons were hospitalized, and after accounting for deaths and discharges, the state’s COVID-19 patient population dropped 26 to 746, 155 of those in ICU beds.
