Bruce W. (Joner) Jonasen, age 69, of Kiel, died on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born in Sheboygan on January 13, 1952 to the late Theodore and Dorothy Mauer Jonasen.
Bruce attended local schools in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1970. On August 7, 1993 he was united in marriage to Laurie Parizek in Sheboygan. Bruce was the owner/operator of Sheboygan Collection Service from 1993 until his retirement in 2005.
He was a long-time bowler, and in his retirement he enjoyed golfing, gambling, crossword puzzles and walking in his woods. Bruce was also a die-hard Milwaukee Brewers fan and loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie Jonasen, of Kiel; a daughter, Olivia Jonasen, of Eau Claire; a brother, Neil Jonasen, of Sheboygan; his aunt, Kathy Bowes, of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Barb (Roger) Drossart, of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law, Brian Parizek, of Two Rivers. Bruce is further survived by his close friends, Tom Fabian, Mark Bauer, Tom Seering, all of Sheboygan; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, his “kittens”, Maddie and London, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandy Jonasen.
A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Rd. Newton, WI 53063 with Deacon Steve Zimmer officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton or the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Bruce’s family would like to thank the staff at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice especially Courtney, for the compassion and care that was given to him.
