SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Two employees of Alliant Energy were injured on Sheboygan’s north side on Thursday, and one did not survive the accident.
A release from the company said that its employees responded to an outage on Sheboygan’s north side and were working to restore power when the injuries occurred.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office reports that they got the 911 call around 12:30 from Miesfeld’s Market informing them that a person may have been electrocuted . Upon arrival, two victims were discovered and transported to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where one of the victims, identified by Alliant Energy as Keith Menke, was later pronounced deceased. The other employee, Bruce Biller, was transported to the burn unit in Milwaukee for treatment. There’s no word on his condition at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office says that the incident remains under investigation, and Alliant said it is cooperating with authorities to understand its cause.
