SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – At least 2,050 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given to residents of Sheboygan County since they first arrived here on December 17th. County vaccination stats are now being supplied by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, which show that close to 27,000 doses were distributed as of today statewide.
The vaccine from Pfizer was given exclusively in our county until January 4th when 28 doses of the Moderna vaccine were also administered. The largest total, 255, was given on January 7th, and since the beginning of the year, an average of 114 doses per day are being given in Sheboygan County.
So far, vaccinations are limited to the so-called Phase 1A population, which includes doctors, nurses and other health care workers, residents and staff of long term care facilities and EMS personnel. The county hasn’t yet announced plans for Phase 1B vaccinations.
