BARRON CO, WI (WTAQ) – Sunday marked the two year anniversary of Jayme Closs being found alive after being kidnapped back in October of 2018.
“We’re still very thankful for the community, to the whole world for all caring and being there, and to law enforcement who worked tirelessly to seek justice.” said Jayme Closs’ Aunt and Guardian, Jennifer Naiberg Smith in a public message on Saturday.
Closs was kidnapped by Jake Thomas Patterson after he broke into the Closs home and killed Jayme’s parents in Barron, Wisconsin.
According to court documents, Patterson told detectives that he spotted Jayme getting on a school bus one day and decided he would take her.
Jennifer Naiberg Smith added that Jayme is enjoying dance, school activities, and other things as much as possible in regards to now dealing with COVID-19.
