(WHBL) – Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader, Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg, and the other 19 members of the Senate Republican Caucus unanimously joined together to condemn the events that took place yesterday at the U.S. Capitol in Washington.
A statement released by the Caucus read:
“We condemn the violence at the U.S. Capitol in the strongest possible terms. It is unacceptable and it is un-American. We cannot abide this assault on our republic.
“Violence, no matter the political affiliation or motive, has no place in our system of government and should not be tolerated.”
The violence broke out during the process of certifying the Electoral College vote that officially declared Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election. Although rioters delayed the process, the election was eventually certified at 3:41 AM Eastern time this morning.
