On December 29 th , 2020, Scott Andrew Raeder, age 34, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee.
Scott was surrounded by his parents and their spouses and some of the most caring health care workers
you can imagine. Scott had been fighting with internal organ failures and complications since November
and after a most courageous battle, it all became too much for him.
Scott was born on February 16 th , 1986, to Warren and Linda Raeder in Sheboygan, WI. Scott graduated
from Trinity Lutheran Elementary School, Sheboygan Lutheran High School, and Lakeshore Technical
College where he received his certificate in welding. Perhaps Scott’s most enjoyable position in his
working career was as Water Park Manager at Blue Harbor, but it goes without saying his most
enjoyable comradery of fellow workers was found in our great cheese processing industry in Plymouth
and Oostburg. Scott was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Scott was a very special kind of person in so many ways, full of love and compassion and a heart as big
as Montana. He never complained about anything and never wanted to put anyone out of their way on
his account but was always the first to volunteer to help. His Christian values were exemplified by
always putting others first before himself. He had a most honorable and noble work ethic which I know
his fellow workers would attest to. Scott was a great music enthusiast, with Nirvana and Metallica
topping his list of favorite artists. He had and played several guitars. Scott was also a great movie
aficionado and as he used to say “a master of useless information.” Name a movie, any movie of
modern times and he’d tell you who starred in it. Name an actor, and he’d tell you what they starred in.
Scott had that special sense of humor that was contagious and would always put a smile on friends’
faces. Scott was notorious for assigning new acquaintances and family members nicknames.
Scott is survived by his father Warren Raeder (Karen), mother Linda Rooker (Richard), aunt Helen
Holzbauer (Phil), aunt Carol Thierbach (Terry), uncle Tom Achsel (Judy), sister Robyn Marthenze (fiancé
Adam Gordon), brother Chris Marthenze (Amy), nephew and Godson Liam, who he shared a special
bond with along with his niece and Goddaughter Isla, uncle Duane Raeder, aunt Nancy Bieck (Gary),
aunt Mary Petrie (Joe), John Paulovitz (Sue) along with several wonderful and loving cousins, and his
special canine companion Lena, his German Shepherd.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824
Wisconsin Ave., in Sheboygan. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, at church, from 11:00 AM
until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, Scott’s wishes would be for donations to the Sheboygan County Humane Society.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at St. Luke’s Medical
Center for their care and comfort.
