
Bernadine A. (Gannon) Ditter of Glenbeulah, age 80, entered her eternal life on Tuesday
December 15, 2020. She was born January 10, 1940, in the Village of Glenbeulah, the daughter of the
late Bernard and Mabel (Roltgen) Gannon.
Bernadine graduated from Glenbeulah High School in 1958. She was married to Donald Ditter on August
13, 1960 at St. Fridolin’s Catholic Church in Glenbeulah. Following their marriage Bernadine and Donald
resided in Glenbeulah where they raised their family and were involved with numerous local activities.
She worked for Attorney George Mooney / Wisconsin Cheese Makers, was a tour guide at the Wade
House in Greenbush, and worked at the family business, Independent Business Services in Fond du Lac.
Bernadine was an avid gardener and loved sewing, making crafts and upholstering furniture. Her
Christmas tree skirts, quilts and other handiwork's are treasured gifts of many. She loved her children
and grandchildren, cherishing the time spent babysitting. She enjoyed spending time with family and
friends.
Bernadine was a member of St. Fridolin / St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a member of the
Christian Mothers Society serving as a past president and for many years as chairperson for church
event meals and a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Holy Dusters. She was a volunteer election poll
worker for the Village of Glenbeulah for 30+ years.
She is survived by her husband Donald; four children Terese (Tal) Dressel, Phillip (Peggy) Ditter, Mary
Ditter, Jean Braun; grandchildren Tyler and Megan Dressel, Christine (Daniel Kenney) Ditter, Nicholas
and Paige Steffes (Christopher Winkler), Adam (Wensday) and Elizabeth Braun; great grandchild Brooks
Winkler; sisters Jean Holzmann, Mary Butler, Kathleen (Ralph) Tredway. Bernadine is further survived by
many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents Bernard and Mabel Gannon, sister Phyllis Bardon, brothers-in-
law Oscar Bardon, Richard Butler, and Eugene Holzmann.
Visitation: Family and friends are welcome to greet the family from 12:00 (noon) to 2:00 pm on Saturday
December 19, 2020 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 94 Lincoln Street, Elkhart Lake. Visitors are
asked to adhere to current COVID-19 recommendations.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in
Elkhart Lake. Father Dennis Van Beek will officiate.
Cremation will take place following the services and inurnment will be at St. Thomas Aquinas South
Cemetery in Greenbush at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Wisconsin Parkinson's Association.
