SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – The Sheboygan County Division of Pubic Health on Tuesday added 177 new cases of COVID-19 to the Sheboygan County total in a single day, two more than were recorded on Monday when 175 were recorded since the previous report last Friday. Such variations are expected due to the complexities of reporting and processing data. Still, active cases also resumed an upward trajectory. After 253 fewer active cases were reported on Monday’s 3-day summary, 57 more were seen today, and 1,952 persons are currently battling the coronavirus in the county. 23 of those are hospitalized, one more than yesterday. With 377 test results received in the last 24-hours, the positive test rate was 47%. In all, 9,823 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Sheboygan County. 7,805 of those have recovered, but 66 have died.
4,114 more persons in Wisconsin received positive test results for COVID-19 by Tuesday afternoon, and 418,446 cases have now been recorded in Wisconsin. With 9,591 test results received in all, the positive test rate was 42.8%, up substantially from Monday’s 27.2% reading. The 7-day percent positive by test average was put at 13.1%. The Wisconsin Hospitals Association reports that 71 persons did not survive the last 24-hours, and the state’s death toll rose to 3,806. 214 persons were hospitalized since yesterday…that compares with 70 added on Monday…and after accounting for deaths and discharges, the patient population dropped 10 to 1,556. 325 of those are in ICU beds. 189 inpatients are awaiting test results, and 555 persons require ventilators. 9 patients are being treated at the Alternate Care Facility at State Fair Park in West Allis.
