
Ione M. Udovich, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at Pine Haven Christian Community with her family at her side. Ione was born in Sheboygan to the late Marvin and Lauretta (Gehr) Biehl on April 22, 1932. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in the class of 1950. Ione was united in marriage to Albin Udovich at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church on October 9, 1954. She was a clerk and worked in the office at Glander’s Pharmacy for 39 years. She was very active in the community and at her church. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Christian Women’s group, the St. Peter Claver Ministry of Care, CYO, New Life Choir, helped with September Fest and was a Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and helped with Bingo at her mother’s nursing home. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, walking and camping. Ione was so caring and always loved visiting her aunts, neighbors and any relative or friend. Family or stranger, she was always there for those that needed help.
Ione is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Dirk) Drews and Carla Davis (partner Douglas Sheppard); grandchildren Aaron Drews (partner Sergio Piceno), Megan Drews (partner Aaron Billberg), Jessica (Brent) Reeves and Jeremy (Monica) Davis; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Aspen, Griffin and Baby Reeves on the way, and Landon, Tanner and Cooper Davis. She is further survived by best friend and cousin, Donna Webb; very close friends including the special Lallemont family and the 14th street neighborhood gang; brother-in-law, Richard Shelstad and numerous other extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Shelstad; brothers, Clifford (Marian) Biehl and Rodger (Peggy) Biehl; brother-in-law, Earl Zarwell; three infant grandchildren, Zachary, Emily and Sarah Drews as well as other extended family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Pine Haven Christian Community. Every staff member was family to Ione especially Montana who always brought her flowers. They would also like to thank the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their outstanding Christian Care.
The family would also like to thank all the family, friends and volunteers who came to visit, pray, called or sent cards to Ione. The family cannot even begin to name each person because so many reached out to Ione and cared for her.
Due to COVID-19 a private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ione’s name to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Pine Haven Christian Communities or Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
