(WHBL) – With the supply of healthcare workers strained because of quarantining and illness related to the coronavirus pandemic, Lakeshore Technical College is playing an important role in filling the gaps.
According to Lakeshore Associate Dean of Nursing Lori Hertel, LTC nursing students are graduating, passing the exam, and then jumping into the workforce at impressive rates.
Most LTC graduates are passing the National Council Licensure Exam on their first attempt, with a 97% success rate through November of this year, well ahead of the national rate. And 93% of LTC nursing students that graduated last year were placed in jobs that earn a median salary over $53 thousand. LTC graduates an average of 30 to 40 nursing students annually.
