SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – 105 more positive test returns for COVID-19 were received in the last 24 hours by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, raising the county total to 4,802 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March. With 68 recoveries tallied, the active roll increased by 37 to 1,561. 2,358 persons have had COVID-19 in the county and recovered, while 25 have died. Of the active cases, hospitalizations fell by five since Tuesday to 18. The positive test return rate, with 222 results in all, was 47.29%.
After recording over 5,000 positive test results on Tuesday, the number of Wisconsin residents getting the news of their coronavirus infection was down to 3,815, or about 39% of all returns in Wednesday’s report. 45 persons died, raising the death toll to 1,897, and another 174 persons were hospitalized with the disease.
The Wisconsin Hospitals Association on Wednesday reported a total COVID-19 patient population of 1,439, up 54 since Tuesday, with 339 in the ICU. Another 143 were hospitalized and awaiting test results.
