SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs are being collected Saturday as part of the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The 19th event of its kind, sponsored locally by Healthy Sheboygan County 2020, runs from 10 AM until 1 PM at Generations in Plymouth, the Random Lake Fire Department and at Sheboygan’s St. Nicholas Hospital.
To help keep dangerous drugs off the streets and properly disposed of, you’re asked to gather unused medications – even pet medications – remove them from their containers and place them in a plastic bag. Liquid medications should be kept in their containers, while sealed blister packs are OK as-is. And this is for households only – no businesses – and it’s not for illegal drugs.
The event will be a drive-thru drop-off…no need to leave your vehicle…and you’re asked to wear a mask, as a volunteer will come to your vehicle to collect the meds. Also, those using St. Nicholas should enter from Taylor Drive and follow the arrows since the usual Superior Avenue entrance is still under construction.
