(WHBL) – The UW Green Bay has been recognized by Campus Pride as one of the best LGBTQ-Friendly colleges and universities. The list was released Friday as part of LGBTQ History Month and National Coming Out Day. The list uses an index which includes institutional support and exemplary commitment to LGBTQ-inclusion in policy, program and practice.
The Director of the university’s Pride Center, Stacie Christian, said students have had internship opportunities to advocate for policy change, to lead in Pride youth leadership and history camps, and to educate about LGBTQ+ concerns. But most importantly, Christian says, the campus recognizes the opportunity to continue to grow in its own learning and understanding of the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and how to better serve those persons and the communities in the future.
