LOS ANGELES, CA (WHBL) – An early lead held up for the Dodgers in a 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game One of their NL wild card series in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. The Dodgers had two bases-loaded walks in the first and Mookie Betts doubled in a run in the second for a 3-0 lead.
Orlando Arcia got one back for Milwaukee with a solo homer in the fourth, but Corey Seager connected in the seventh to put LA back up by two.
Walker Buehler and Julio Urias combined for 13 strikeouts over the first seven innings, with Urias getting the win. Kenley Jansen got the save.
For the Brewers, Brent Suter got chased in the second and took the loss.
The Brewers will look to avoid elimination when they face the Dodgers in Game Two of the wild card series Thursday night in Los Angeles. Brandon Woodruff will take the mound for Milwaukee across from LA’s Clayton Kershaw.
