MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers is suggesting again that President Donald Trump not come to Wisconsin this weekend.
Evers was asked what the President should do during his planned trips to Green Bay and LaCrosse this weekend given high COVID-19 activity in the state.
“Number one, he could not come,” Evers told reporters. “The second thing is that could be done is for him to insist that if people are there, they wear a mask.”
Evers has asked the President to stay away before. In August, he asked President Trump not to come to Kenosha, the site of widespread rioting, saying his presence would distrupt healing in that community following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
President Trump is planning a visit to Green Bay’s Austin Straubel airport on Saturday.
