SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – It’s usually a gathering of hundreds of people each year when the United Way kicks off its annual fundraising campaign and Day of Caring. But this, of course, is 2020 when virtual is the norm, and that will be the case on Thursday when most will attend via Zoom.
United Way of Sheboygan County staff have coordinated events across the county to set things in motion beginning at 8 AM October 1st when Executive Director Kate Baer officially launches the activities. The day includes a noon session to discuss those 34% of Wisconsin households classified at “Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed” who struggle to afford life’s basic necessities.
Also included in Thursday’s events are the Acts of Kindness Challenge for all ages, a Wish List of items that help nonprofits to do their work, and volunteer opportunities that can be done virtually.
