(WHBL) – Four Fond du Lac men, all felons, are facing federal charges of conspiring to make a false statement to a licensed firearms dealer and possession of firearms by felons.
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin Matt Krueger announced the charges on Wednesday. The charges allege that 28-year-old Jonathan Griffin, 37-year-old Jason Spinks, 25-year-old Shakie Davis and 36-year-old Treon Dennis, all of Fond du Lac, were dealing heroin in the area and used their network to recruit one of their customers to purchase eleven firearms for them over an 8-month period. Three of those firearms were recovered at crime scenes in the Chicago area shortly after they were purchased.
If convicted of the crime, they each face possible sentences of up to 10 years in prison and a one-quarter-million dollar fine.
