SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Removal of dying ash trees will require South 17th Street to be closed between New Jersey and Indiana Avenues tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday between 7 AM and 3 PM, according to City Forester Tim Bull.
The City of Sheboygan hosts some 5,000 ash trees, and all need to be either treated to kill the invasive emerald ash borer beetle, or removed if the infestation can’t be controlled.
An effort will be undertaken this October to replace ash trees in city parks, but many others now grow along streets in Sheboygan and safely removing them requires road closures.
