SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Surface preparation in advance of asphalt overlay will require detours on four Sheboygan city streets this week according to the Head of the Streets Division David Groves. The four projects are expected to take until October 12th to complete.
Beginning Wednesday, Saemann Avenue will be closed from North 21st to North 25th Street between 5 AM and 6 PM for the milling of the road surface. Parking will be prohibited and traffic will be routed to Superior Avenue.
Beginning Thursday, North 18th Street from Calumet Drive to Martin Avenue will be closed between 5 AM and 6 PM daily for the duration of the project. Streets Supervisor Groves said that local detours will be placed that are of minimal impact to the project and traffic, and he requested obeying all signage.
Martin Avenue from North 15th to North 18th Street will also undergo milling in preparation for asphalt overlay beginning Thursday between 5 AM and 6 PM daily. Traffic will be re-routed to North Avenue via Calumet Drive and North 15th Street.
Finally, North 10th Street will be closed from Erie to Superior Avenues between 5 AM and 6 PM daily beginning Friday. That traffic will be detoured onto North 13th Street via Erie and Superior Avenues. Again, work on all projects should be completed by October 12th, weather permitting.
