SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WI (WHBL) – COVID-19 has forced the Sheboygan Falls School District to move all 5th through 8th grade classes to an all-virtual model until September 30th. The decision was made in collaboration with the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health.
After noting increasing absences over the past week, followed by contact tracing that connected a large number of close contacts to positive cases, it was determined that the best way to keep staff and students safe is to put all Falls Middle School classes online for now.
With no classes today, the virtual sessions begin Thursday the 17th, and contact tracing will continue in partnership with the County Division of Public Health.
In the letter to Falls Middle School parents, County Health Officer Starrlene Grossman noted that if a family doesn’t receive a call for contact tracing, then there’s no need to isolate or quarantine at this time. Meanwhile, all school sponsored sports or activities at the middle school level will be cancelled while the all-virtual instruction model is in place.
