SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan County’s active case load of COVID-19 was down by 11 as of 2PM Wednesday, September 9th. That’s due to recoveries outpacing new cases 45 to 34. However, with a total of 253 tests returned in all, that’s a positive rate of 13.4%, a jump of over 9% from Tuesday. Eight persons, one less than on Tuesday, are hospitalized for treatment. The peak hospitalization rate of 9 persons was reached three times so far – on August 21st, 24th, and yesterday. 58 county residents in all have experienced hospitalizations for the disease, and 10 have succumbed to COVID-19.
It was reported that one person at Sheboygan North High School tested positive for COVID-19 last week, but having attended only one day, no changes in schedules or policies have been implemented. The Sheboygan Area School District Nurses, on the SASD website, noted that although they are taking steps to reduce the risk of COVID-19, they need help from parents and students. They recommend that everyone complete the daily symptom screening before children are sent to school. That screening form is available on the district website COVID-19 page, and if any questions yield a “yes” answer, the child must be kept at home. The school’s attendance line should be called with a detailed message, and the child’s medical provider should also be contacted. That page is available at:
