MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – Eric Sogard’s sac-fly in the seventh snapped a 5-all tie and the Brewers went on to beat the Detroit Tigers 8-5 in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. Jace Peterson added a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the eighth for insurance. Keston Hiura hit a three-run shot in the third inning for the Brewers, who overcame an early 4-0 deficit.
Joe Jimenez took the loss. Willi Castro and Jorge Bonifacio drove in two runs each for Detroit, which walked 10 Milwaukee batters.
Milwaukee improved to 17-19 and, after a day off Thursday, head to Cleveland to face the Indians in a three-game weekend series beginning Friday night.
