SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – An ordinance to temporarily ease requirements related to new and returning sidewalk cafes in Sheboygan has been given a direct referral to the Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee in order to fast-track the approval of the proposed new rules next week.
The measure from Alderpersons Sorenson and Donohue is intended to help counter the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and would affect permits for the current license year, through April 14, 2021. If an application satisfies the simplified requirements such as plan layout, proof of insurance, beverage license and the like, then permits could be approved by the common council without the review and recommendation of the plan commission.
