SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – Sheboygan Police Chief Chris Domagalski is taking Milwaukee’s Mayor to task for not allowing a final offer to be made to name him the Assistant Police Chief in Milwaukee.
Domagalski was preparing to leave the Sheboygan Police Department to take that position after his hire was approved last month, and had expected to start as soon as next Monday. In an email sent out yesterday, Domagalski says he’s not being treated fairly.
For their part, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barret’s office says their police chief wants to make an offer that’s much higher than what’s allowed in Milwaukee’s Salary Ordinance. Because of this, Domagalski hasn’t yet officially tendered his resignation, even as the Board of Police and FIre Commissioners meets to name an interim chief.
