Douglas W. Carey, 52, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020 of cancer surrounded by
his family at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was born on November
18, 1967 in Milwaukee to Wayne and Connie (Watson) Carey. He graduated from New Holstein High
School with the Class of 1986. Following High School, Doug proudly joined the US Army and was a
Helicopter Mechanic at Ft. Campbell, KY.
On August 17, 1991 he was united in marriage to Jennifer Hinze at Ebenezer UCC in Sheboygan.
Doug worked at Quantum Spatial for 12 years as a Senior Airborne Sensor Systems Operator. He loved
his family and enjoyed camping at his seasonal site at Plymouth Rock Campground, walking, working out
and going to the races at Road America. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, especially to Key West. It
was a place they dreamed of retiring to one day. He loved having his sons over for cook outs and family
time. He traveled quite a bit for work, to almost all of the states, and enjoyed working with his flight
crew. Doug was a red wine enthusiast and even made a few of his own at one point. He also loved his
truck and enjoyed having modifications done to it.
Doug is survived by his wife, Jennifer, sons, Collin and Clayton, parents, Wayne and Connie Carey, sister,
Ellie (Dave) Green, father-in-law Larry Hinze, and brother-in-law Todd (Rebecca) Hinze. He is further
survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and
paternal grandparents, sister Lori Hueppchen and niece Erin Green.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Zimmer-Westview Funeral &
Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd., Sheboygan, with Rev. William Rishel officiating. Burial will
follow at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday,
January 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 9:00 AM until
the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Doug’s name.
