Thomas E. Fredricks, 75, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice surrounded by his family.
Born December 29, 1943 in Sheboygan, Thomas was a son of the late Edwin and Kathleen Lauschinger Fredricks. He attended Sheboygan area schools and South High School. On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Suzanne E. Hackbarth at Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
Tom worked as a packer in the enamel shop at Kohler for 38 years, retiring in 2004. He previously worked for Great Lakes Homes. He was a member of Ebenezer UCC. Tom loved working on his 1971 Mach 1 Mustang which he often entered into car shows around the state where he won numerous awards. He was an avid sports fan which included the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Suzanne; his children, Todd (Dawn) Fredricks, Scott (Melissa) Fredricks, and Tracy (David) Ploetz, all of Sheboygan; his five grandchildren, Kyle Fredricks, Amanda (Kyle) Blindauer, Kayla Ploetz, Chase (fiancé Alexis Last) Ploetz, and Arika Ploetz, all of Sheboygan; his brothers Glenn (Marcia) Fredricks, Sheboygan, and Jack (Sally Buehler) Fredricks, Fond du Lac; his sister, Peggy (Dennis) Watson, Sheboygan Falls; his in-laws, Willis (Janet) Hackbarth, West Allis, and Gail( Ken) Porter, Sheboygan Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents and his mother and father-in-law, William and Pearl Hackbarth, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Blake Ploetz, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services for Tom will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan. The Rev. Lorri Steward will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Phelan and nurse Kayla and staff from the Sheboygan Aurora Memorial Medical Center and the Sharon S, Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
